Material Information
Olefin outdoor furniture fabric
Our cushions are treated with a water repellent finish, but are not waterproof and should not be left out in heavy rain. If cushions become saturated simply place them on their edge and allow the water to drain until they are thoroughly dry.
Do not store cushions when they are wet.

- Low moisture absorption and fast moisture release.
- Stain and soil resistant.
- Lowest static component of any man-made fibre.
- Resists deterioration caused by sunlight.
- Good wash ability, quick drying.
- Resilient, moldable, very comfortable.
- Thermally bondable.
Textilene outdoor furniture fabric
Bonded textilene is the fabric we use for our sling style chairs, bonded to minimise stretch and reduce the possibility of tearing. Made from UV stabilised PVC coated, polyester, non-stretch yarn. We also include mould inhibitors to reduce the need for harsh cleaning.
Using this fabric ensures our slings are both strong durable and mildew resistant, flame retardant and require very little maintenance.
Textilene can withstand an excessive amount of exposure to the elements however it is suggested that the material be washed down regularly either with warm fresh or soapy water and a soft bristle brush or a soft cloth to keep its ‘as new’ appearance. To avoid stains, remove spills promptly. Heavy stains can be removed using ¼ cup bleach and ¼ cup mild detergent mixed with 5 litres of water, rinse thoroughly after cleaning. Do not use solvent type cleaners.
Kwila / Merbau outdoor furniture
Kwila or Merbau is one of the world most durable timbers. Its strength, density, and abundance of natural oils makes it an ideal material for use in outdoor furniture. All Kwila we distribute is thoroughly dried in special kilns to ensure there is minimal shrinkage or movement during or after production. Combining design excellence with modern techniques, we offer a range of versatile products that are comfortable, stylish and functional. We also ensure all timbers are harvested from legal and sustainable sources.
Kwila will naturally leach excess sap when exposed to rain or heavy dew. It is recommended that all Kwila furniture be “bled” or “leached” before use. To achieve this, remove slings/cushions (if present), place the furniture on a grassed area to avoid staining of concrete etc. and direct a hose with a steady water flow at the setting. It is important that all areas of the furniture are saturated so that all the oil (tannin) can run out of the timber. The initial process must be carried out in a thorough manner to prevent “secondary bleeding/leaching”. To maintain the natural colourings of the timber it is suggested that a periodic application of oil be used. Light sanding with fine sandpaper prior to oiling is recommended. It is recommended that all fittings be tightened every six months. This will prevent the frames from working loose.
Kwila warranties will vary from 1 to 5 years, so please consult the product swing tag
Teak outdoor furniture
Teak is a yellowish brown timber with good grains and texture. It is used in the manufacture of outdoor furniture, boat decks, and other articles where weather resistance is required. Our range of teak is sourced from Burmese plantation suppliers and is fully accredited as being sustainably harvested.
Teak’s natural oils make it extremely attractive for use in exposed locations; it has natural oil that makes it highly resistant to insect attack or fungal problems.
The amount of care required for Teak Timber is directly related to the amount of exposure the timber has to all weather conditions. If left untreated the natural oil in the timber will often retreat, causing the timber to take on a light grey/silver appearance. To restore the natural colourings of the timber it is suggested that a periodic sanding (using a fine grain sand paper e.g. 340 grit) and application of oil be used. It is recommended that all fittings are tightened every six months. This will prevent the frames from working loose. We recommend that teak furniture is covered with a breathable furniture cover or stored inside/undercover to extend its life.
PE (polyethylene) outdoor wicker furniture
Given that it is highly resistant to chemical caustics and solutes, polyethylene remains a durable reusable material for countless plastic formed applications. Polyethylene also is recyclable and as such helps reduce landfill production.
Unlike many other plastics, Polyethylene does not absorb water therefore is suitable for outdoor use when pigmented. It is moisture, stain and odour resistant as well as impervious to many chemicals. It is a lightweight and economical alternative to other plastic products. With the ability to add UV stabilisers and softeners to the product, plus its ability to be extruded in different profiles makes it perfect for use in outdoor furniture. For easy maintenance, simply add car wash to water and clean with a soft brush and rinse with clean water.
Stainless steel outdoor furniture
SX 304 is the most versatile and the most widely used of all stainless steels. Its chemical composition, mechanical properties, weld ability and corrosion/oxidation resistance provide the best all-round performance stainless steel. SX 304 is used in all industrial, commercial and domestic fields because of its good corrosion and heat resisting properties.
Stainless steels contain sufficient chromium to form a passive film of chromium oxide, which prevents further surface corrosion and blocks corrosion from spreading into the metal’s internal structure.
To clean stainless steel frames wash down regularly with mild soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Hose regularly with fresh water to remove airborne contaminants. Warranty specifically excludes scratching, marking, corrosion and/or tea staining effect normally due to inappropriate or insufficient cleaning and upkeep of the surfaces. The grade of stainless steel generally used unless otherwise specified is 304. This grade is commonly used throughout the furniture industry for its durability and resistance to corrosion
Aluminium outdoor furniture
Aluminium is a soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleable metal. Aluminium is remarkable for the metal’s low density and for its ability to resist corrosion. It has a high resistance to corrosion on surfaces exposed to the atmosphere.
Aluminum is highly resistant to weathering, even in industrial atmospheres that often corrode other metals.
Attractive appearance, together with high resistance to weathering and low maintenance requirements have led to extensive use in buildings of all types. High reflectivity, excellent weathering characteristics, and lightweight properties are all important in materials that are to be used where exposed to the elements.
To clean powder coated frames wash down regularly with mild soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Hose regularly with fresh water to remove airborne contaminants. Warranty specifically excludes damage to powdercoat finish caused by corrosion, scratching, pitting or fading.
Tempered glass
Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering creates balanced internal stresses, which cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
To clean glass, wash down regularly with mild soapy water or commercially available glass cleaner. Do not strike glass or place any heavy weight directly on the glass. Do not place extremely hot or cold items directly on the glass. Do not drag table under any circumstances. Do not leave umbrellas open through table glass when the table is not in use. Umbrella should always be in a solid base to avoid table damage. Glass breakage is not covered by the warranty.
Travertine outdoor table tops
Travertine is a versatile stone that can be used for almost any purpose in the modern home: as floor tiles, shower tiles, wall cladding or counter tops.
High quality travertine tends to be ivory or light beige, although it can come in a range of colours; the surface finish it up to you, since travertine can be polished for a smooth, shinier finish, or left rough and textured.
The table top is made of natural stone. The tiles range in colour depending on the depth of the hill from which they were quarried so no two tables will be the same. It is recommended that a sealant be used to ensure the surface remains sealed at all times. For day to day cleaning, use a neutral pH cleaner or a cleaner that is specifically designed for Travertine. Do not use acidic cleaners as they will etch and remove the polished finish. The Travertine Tile Top is covered by a 3 year warranty.
Acrylic outdoor fabric
Due to its wicking ability and other characteristics, the fabric designers all over world are opting for acrylic fabrics for manufacturing products for all seasons.
- Not only, the acrylic fabrics are high in performance but also they have a luxurious appearance.
- Dyes can be easily applied to them and they are colourfast.
- They are mildew resistant.
Acrylic fabric possesses a built in stain and soil release characteristic for easy maintenance. Stains are easily removed with warm soapy water.
